A whale's vagina State University
So yesterday morning I got to wake up at 0330 in the morning to do a tour of San Diego State University guided by Lt. Chad Raney, one of the heads of the SDSU Air Force ROTC program. The only problem was, I only got about an hour and a half of sleep that night.
So 9 other cadets and I get picked up at MVHS via van around 0430. When we arrived at the school, we go inside one of the lecture halls to get a briefing from this retired Navy Captain who was once a pilot. He gave an interesting lecture on leadership. Though I did not agree on most of what he said, I listened to his words. He had a very interesting interpretation on leadership.
Then after we walked with Lt. Raney and Lt. Weaver around campus asking questions about anything. When it came to the end of the tour we somehow came to comparing the Air Force and the Marine Corps. One of the topics was the ongoing stereotype of how the Air Force is all about having a cushy job sitting in air conditioned rooms all day. It turns out all those rumors and stereotypes are true! Both the guides admitted to loving their jobs.
I was told to keep my options open to where I wanted to go after high school. That means hearing and seeing what people have to offer. From that tour I realized how much of a Marine I want to become. That tour reinforced my position in joining the Marine Corps. Many people would find waking up as early as 0300 in the freakin damn morning to get a tour of what AFROTC is about and wanting to be more of a Marine is a waste of one's time. To me, it was a very enlightening experience and I thank Captain Holcomb for voluntelling me to go, and I also thank the guides for taking their time in showing me what they're about.

One More Month
Until I enlist in the Marine Corps. My PFT Scores are as follows:
Pull Ups: 11, need to get back to at least 15 by the end of 2009
Crunches (in 2 minutes): 123, pretty descent but could be better
3 Mile Run: 28 minutes, fucking HORRIBLE!
Fuck you smooths, you're holding me back!
